Cruise

Thanks to David and Camille, we had a great opportunity to go with Mike's parents and siblings on a cruise. We had so much fun that we want to go on another one. I was scared that I was going to get sick because I get car sick, but I am happy to report that no one got sick at all. We flew into LAX on Monday and went to the ship that was docked in Long Beach. As we were getting off the plane David had a call from Matt that he had missed his flight. We were all a little scared that he wasn't going to make it. He luckily got on a new flight and was able to get a taxi to bring him to the port in time. Once everyone was on the boat we all hung out and waited for the boat to be on its way. We had a late dinner time of 8:15 which was 10:15 Texas time. The food was worth staying up and eating. After dinner we just hung out. Here are some picture of us on the first night on the ship.

Day Two we were in Catalina Island. We had to take a little boat to the island. Once on the island we walked around and looked at the little shops and Mike, Matt and I put our feet in the water but it was pretty cold so we decided going back on the boat and getting in the hot tub would be a better idea. Once we were done walking around we got back on a boat that took us back to the ship. We just hung out and walked around to see what the boat had to offer. We went to dinner and then hung out some more.

Day three was spent in Ensenada Mexico. Went and saw a big blow hole and then spent some time walking around the shops and doing some more hanging out.

We got back from breakfast to find the person that cleaned our room put my sun glasses on our elephant.

Bass...

I have caught white fish and trout but now I can add bass to the list. All night I just kept getting my line caught in weeds and stuff so when I got the fish I just thought it was stuck again. All I remember was Mike saying that I had one and told me to keep reeling in. When it got close I couldn't believe that I really had one. I was shaking so bad out of excitement and couldn't stop smiling for the next 30 minutes. Mike got the hook out and he said I had it pretty good. I had gotten it in his lip and the bottom of his tongue. It weighed 2 pounds. I have some nice teeth marks in my thumb from holding him up. I still can't believe that I caught a bass!

Tuesday was Nelwyn's Birthday and Wednesday was Boston's Birthday. So we got together as a family on Monday to celebrate the two amazing people. We went over to Ashley's parents for dinner and the festivities. After dinner it was time to open presents.

I know this is late but this is a update on Mike's Birthday. We had a family dinner for his birthday on Sunday.

So on the day of his birthday I had the week off. I made him breakfast in bed and then we just relaxed in the pool for the day. Then we went to a wonderful dinner with Mike's parents. I tried to get a picture of us before we went out to dinner but our camera is broken and we tried with our phone and that didn't work out. :( So that is the update... I hope he had a great birthday and I look forward to spending more of those with him. Love ya Babe!!

I know it has been forever since I have made a post. My excuse is that I don’t have a kid so I don’t have anything to write about or any cute pictures to show. I really have just been working and have had the chance to take care of Boston and Cade last weekend. I had so much fun with them even if I didn’t get that much sleep. I got them Friday night and they spent the night with Mike and me. Then on Saturday we just hung out around the house and I even took an adventure with the two boys and we went out shopping. That was an experience in and of its self, me with a two year old that likes to be independent and a 6 month old that doesn’t like being in the car. We first went to Hobby Lobby and then it was off to Wal-mart. We were in the craft section and Boston has a good eye and noticed the toys. So as we are looking at the beads Boston is trying to convince me to take him over to the toys. I had to inform him that we were not going to buy anything. It was really funny because he would tell me that we would just go and look and he was fine with that. So we get over to the toys and the next thing out of his mouth is “I would like to hold that but we aren’t going to buy it” and that was ok with me. Then he started to tell me that we aren’t going to buy it but he was going to get it for his birthday. So anything he saw he said “I get that for my birthday”. So after that we went home and made a Mother’s Day present for Ashley from Boston. I was a poem that I had about little kids’ fingerprints and then we stamped his hands on the paper. Later that day I look the boys back to Ashley and Jamie. It was a nice weekend to spend with those little guys. Thanks Jamie and Ashley for letting me take your kids. So that is pretty much all that has gone on around our place.

Christmas....

Christmas.... It was a Walker Christmas this year so we spent the time with my family. We had Jamie, Ashley, Boston, and Cade stay at the Nixon's with us b/c there is just not enough room at Dad and Nelwyn's and at their house they had Corey and Marianne( Nelwyn's Daughter). We just hung out until Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Eve we did our usual tradition of having chili and corn bread for dinner, open our Christmas pajamas and then we headed out to go look at Christmas lights. We went to a house that is in a neighborhood close to us that has 104,000 lights on it and you can turn your radio to a station and the lights go with the music. It is so amazing I can't even imagine all the time it would take to put it up and take it all down. On the way home from looking at lights we played freeze out so that we would be ready when we got home for some nice warm hot chocolate. :) Then Christmas morning we got up and got ready and went back over to dads house. It was so fun to see Boston so excited to see what Santa brought him and if he had the cookies and milk Boston up out for him. He also helped my dad in handing out the presents. Each of us kids got an amazing present this year Corey got my moms wedding ring, Jamie got my moms 25th anniversary ring, and I got my grandmas wedding ring. It is amazing to have that and be able to pass it on to my oldest girl some day. I also got for my birthday my moms CTR ring. For Christmas dinner we had Ashley's family and one of Nelwyn's friends and her son over. We had yummy ham with all the sides but the best was the delicious fried turkey that we had. Holy Cow it was amazing! If you have never had that I do have to say you should to try it. On that Saturday Jamie and Ashley went to celebrate their 5 year wedding anniversary so Mike and I had the boys. It was so much fun and it wasn't bad at all to go from having no kids to having two boys over night. Then on Monday the 29th Corey's girlfriend Amber flew into town and we went over to Jamie and Ashley's to meet her. She is an amazing girl and I wish we could have spent more time with her. Hope to see her again soon. On New Years Eve we went over to Jamie and Ashley's so that the next day they could take us to the airport. We had fun staying up and watching the ball drop and eating some munchies. Then we got up the next morning and went to the airport and headed off to the Nixon Reunion. Update on the once I can get some pictures from Dad.

Thanksgiving ...Camille's birthday is at the beginning of November so David got her tickets for all the kids to fly home for Thanksgiving. It was so much fun to have everyone home. We didn't have that much time to spend with everyone especially Chris who got here on Thanksgiving afternoon but we made the best of it. We went out to eat and hung out. We also did a lot of Rock Band playing. We went to Main Event and went bowling and then at work I got coupons for all of us to get a free card with 10 bucks on it for the arcades which was a lot of fun. Then we had to say good bye to everyone but we knew we would see them after Christmas for the Nixon Reunion.

So here it goes the last month… So we left Rexburg in the middle of August and on our way home to Texas we stopped in Utah for Mike’s sisters wedding. It was a great day. It was really cool to be there in the Temple with Mike’s Parents, his two brothers, and his sister and her husband. Then we stayed in Utah for a couple of days. We headed on our way to Texas on Tuesday (our 5 year wedding anniversary) and we stopped in Colorado. Then we got up on Wednesday and finished the long drive and made it here on Wednesday night.

Our truck with all of our stuff in was already here and so Thursday we got up and unloaded that. Then we hadn't been in Texas for twelve hours and I went for a job interview at a Private Preschool and was offered the job that night. I took the job and started work that Saturday getting the classroom in order. Then the next week was trainings and open house. I was hopping to have at least a couple of days to get things in order around the house but that is not at all how it happened. Oh well someone has to make some money. Mike has been getting his portfolio together and will start contacting people this week about jobs. Cross your fingers that he will get something soon. We will definitely let everyone know the outcome of that. We did get some of Ike but mostly just rain but, were prepared for much worse. I know this probably sounds like we haven’t been doing much but I feel like I am just going and going all the time.

I know this was a about 5 months ago but I just put it together in a scrapbook program and I wanted to post what I did. This was from a weekend at my Aunt and Uncles with my Dad, Nelwyn, Corey. We also got to spend some time with my new nieces and nephews.

Last Couple Weeks.....

I feel that our last three weeks has been pretty crazy around here. We left on July 4th and went down to Provo to spend some time with Mike's family. It was good to hang out with his family and to also met Wade (Sara's Fiance). We also went down so that we could bring Camille back up to Idaho with us to start packing up our apt for out moved in 3 weeks. So after spending the week in Utah we came back to Idaho and got to work. On Saturday morning we started going through stuff and ended up taking 16 bags of stuff to DI. I couldn't believe that we had all that stuff to get rid of and we have just been moving it from place to place. The rest of the week we spent time getting boxes and started packing stuff up. We got about 12 or more boxes packed up and it feels so good to have a start on things. On July 17th Mike meat with his BFA teacher to discuss his final project and turn in a leave behind portfolio. Things went great and his teacher told him "Congratulations you are a College Graduate." :) He came and I was so excited to hear that we have made it and he is all done. Then the next day, July 18th was the day that Mike graduated but he didn't want to walk which was fine by me so to celebrate he went and saw the new Batman movie. I also just wanted to say thank you so much to Camille for coming and helping us out. Then this week I guess hasn't been as busy but it went really fast. I can't believe that we only have 3 weeks left in Rexburg. Hip Hip Hooray!! So we will be leaving here to head down to Utah for Sara's Wedding and then it is off to TEXAS!! So that is a run down of what we have been up to. Wish us luck as we get everything packed and moved.

Mike's BFA

Well this is Mike's BFA(Bachelors of Fine Arts) Project that he has been working on. This is what has kept us up here for another semester. He did all the design work for a ceramic show that he made up. It is finally done and on display, which means Mike is almost a college graduate. All he has left to do is a leave behind portfolio for his teacher. So he will turn that in on the last day of class and then he is all graduated!!! I can't believe that we can see the light at the end of all this. Last night we went to the show were all the BFA projects were on display and it was nice to see all the different things that people did. Mike was the only Graphic Designer in the show. I think that he did a really great job on his project and I am really proud of his and what he has done. The next step is for us to get all moved down to Texas and find jobs. Wish us luck!!

Gone Fishing.....

Well last Saturday June 7th was free fishing day here in Idaho. So we decided to take advantage of our last time to go fishing here. It was really cold and windy. I think the temp. was in the 30s but with the wind I am sure make it feel even colder. So we got up early and went to our spot that we have always gone on the Snake River. We went there three years ago for my first time fishing and I got like 4 or 5 fish. Then we went there last year as well but we didn't catch anything. So we went again to the same spot this year and again we got nothing. Mike wishes that he would have gone out and found some more spots but it is a little late for that. It was really fun to just be together and have that quite time with no other distractions. Well I know this is that exciting of a post but here it is. Here are some pics as well. Enjoy!

Well as you can see by the pictures I have been busy making more t-shirt blankets. It all started with Corey's...He asked me once I was done with mine if I would make him one. His isn't as big as mine but it is still pretty big. I wanted to have his finished for him for when he went into the hospital for his surgery but that didn't happen and he informed me that he wouldn't be able to take it with him so it all worked out. I had it all done and finished for when he got home from the hospital. He loves it and has been using it no-stop ever since he got it. When Corey had his surgery then my step-mom came to help him out and she brought with her some of Katelyn's(her daughter) t-shirt to make her a blanket for her graduation present. So we got working on that and I got it finished and mailed just in time for her to get it on her graduation day. She really likes hers as well and I am so happy. Hers is the same size as mine becuase we had a shirt that was pretty big and that we didn't want to cut up so we decided to make it be the size of 4 squares and put it in the middle. I think that it turned out great. Now I have one to do for Mike's Aunts friend and then when I am finished with that it will be on to one for Mike's Aunt. Then who knows who's I will be working on after that. I should just make this a business. :) Well the only other fun things that are going on here is that we only have about a month and a half left and I can't tell you how excited I am. I should probably start to pack but if I do that then I might have everything packed and not have stuff that we need. :) Well that is about all hope everyone is doing well.

So I have been wanting the wooden letters that you can hang up on your walls. So I went to Porter's yesterday to look at them and I just couldn't bring myself to spend 5 bucks a letter. Then it all came to me that I would make my own. We had all the stuff so it was free. So I came home and that is what I did. Hope you all like it.

Last Weekend....

So I had the opportunity to go down to Utah with my brother last weekend to see my Dad and Nelwyn. Corey and I left Thursday night after he got off work. Friday morning we got up and had a wonderful breakfast from Kneaders which is the best place ever. Then Corey and Dad had to work so Nelwyn and I helped my Aunt and Uncle in the yard. It was so nice I can't wait to have a house that I can have my own garden to plant flowers and make pretty.

After we worked in the yard we went in and cleaned up then headed out for some shopping. Then that night we went to Pizza Factory for some yummy pizza. We then got some movies and just hung out and relaxed. Then Saturday we got up and went to the Mt. Timpanogis temple to do sealings. Then we went over to Nelwyn daughter Brandy's house to get her kids and go back to my Aunts to have some dinner. While we were waiting to start dinner we played outside. The kids rode the Power Wheels Gater up and down the driveway. It was fun to see them so excited to be able to drive it.

Then we roasted hot dogs and hamburgers in the fire pit. We also made some yummy s'mores. Then we just sat around and talked. These kids are the cutest and sweetest kids. I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of Kailyn. Sunday we went to Church and then it was time to head back home.

Nelwyn and IIt was a fun and relaxing weekend. I can't wait for a couple weeks to be able to see everyone again for the big wedding. Hope everyone is doing well.

So I haven't put an update in a long time so I decided it was about time. The snow is finally melting, slowly but surely. We have some sad news. We will be staying in Rexburg until July. I wasn't happy about this but we decided that it would be a good choice for Mike to have some more time to get his portfolio in order. So this summer semester he will be taking his BFA class and then working on his portfolio and getting himself a job. He will also try to get a job locally for the summer semester. I will still be working where I have been and will be getting our apt ready to move. Hip Hip Hooray!!! We also have my Dads wedding in April to look forward to. We are looking forward to seeing family. Especially Jamie, Ashley, and Boston.

Rexburg Temple

It is so cool to be able to be here for the building of the temple then also be able to attend the dedication. This was the first temple that I had the chance to be at when it was dedicated. Mike and I had the opportunity to get tickets for inside of the temple for the dedication. Let me tell you that was one of the coolest experiences imaginable. We also had the wonderful opportunity to go threw the open house and then also again with Brother Parson (he painted the murals in the Ordinance rooms) which was an amazing experience in itself.

Vacation....

We are having a good vacation. It is hard to believe that it is almost over and time to head back to Rexburg for our final semester. We have been keeping busy shopping, playing games, and just hanging out with Mike's family. We had a wonderful Christmas and I had a good birthday. Then the day after Christmas we had a chance to go down to St. George to get our new car. Our other car died and it was time to get a new one. Thanks to my aunt we had the chance to buy her car which is an upgrade from what we had before and we are grateful to her for that opportunity. So we had fun hanging out with some of my family in St. George. My dad and his fiancé drove our new car up from Texas so we got to see them and hang out a little bit. Then we came back here to Provo for a week to hang out and then head back to Rexburg. We had a good New Year's Eve. Mike's Aunt Cathy made a yummy dinner and we just hung out and played games until midnight. Then we welcomed in the New Year. It was so much fun. We will just finish up the week and then head on back. That sums it up for our Christmas Vacation. Hope everyone has had a safe and good Christmas season and a Happy New Year.

So my Dad asked Nelwyn to marry him on December 27th. Here is a picture of them in front of the Dallas Temple where it all took place. So here are the details of the day... (This is Nelywn’s description of it all.) Well, after Mike gave me my Christmas presents and had Corey take pictures as I opened them which included beautiful pajamas, an ornament with our pic in it, pearl and diamond earrings, a pearl bracelet, a barbie doll and a race car (he doesn't miss anything he gave me those things because I loved it when I got those things for Christmas when I was younger), and a CD from Corey of songs he had recorded (which I love listening to, thanks, Corey!) and a beautiful plaque from Jaime and Ashley and Boston (Thank ya'll, I love it!) - In my heart, I was sad because I thought I wasn't going to get proposed to yet - Then he said, "I need to go and get something from the Temple." I didn't really think anything of it because it was Thursday Night, the night he generally works there. I wasn't dressed to go in the Temple so I walked around out front and reminisced about standing on the front steps of the Dallas Temple with my friends taking pics together after they had received their own endowments (the Dallas Temple was my Temple district for years when I lived in Louisiana) and he took my pretend engagement ring from me and said he was going to get something to make if fit better. When he came back he handed me a box and when I opened it and saw the most beautiful ring (real one this time) that he had picked out (with Julie Mecham's approval - thanks Julie) I put my arms around his neck and didn't move - I was so overcome with happiness. He then got on his knee and asked me if I would marry him and of course, the answer was "A Resounding YES!" He gave me a dozen red roses.

I know that Thanksgiving was about 3 weeks ago or more. I have been meaning to put an update but I had to ok it with my father. You all maybe be asking why...well my Aunt set him up on a date with a lady named Nelwyn when he was there and they have hit it off. She is really nice, and a very thoughtful person. It was good to get to know her and some of her family. We didn't do many big things it was pretty much just a time to relax and hang out with family. One thing that I liked about the week was that Nelwyn and I got to go and do some shopping just the two of us. It was good to get to know her and have the time just us. I also had fun playing games with my family, her and her family to get to know them better. Wish that it could have been a longer time spend but hopefully another chance will come again. Mike spent the time here in Rexburg. I got him and couple of little cornish gamehen and then he made the rest and had a good time. Well that is about it. Here are a couple of pictures.

Jon Schmidt

We went and saw Jon Schmidt last night. For those of you who don't know he is a really good LDS pianist. Jamie introduced his music to me and I just love it. We have been to one of his shows before and loved it. When we found out that he was coming again we had to go because when we leave here who knows when we will get to see him again. So we went and were entertained the whole night. I got some video but I am not sure how to put that on here so all you get is pictures. Oh and one sad thing is when we got home I was looking at the pictures I had taken and then Mike looked at them and he accidentally deleted the video of Jon doing a back flip which is way cool. So if you guys ever have the chance to go and see him I would really recommend it. He is AMAZING!

My sister-in-law Ashley tagged me so here we go.

1. I can not stand to clean the hair out of my brush. Growing up my mom would do it for me and now my lovely husband will do it. I don't have to ask it just gets done. I don't know what it is but it just is nasty even though it is my own hair.

2. I like to do crafts. I like to scrapbook but what I really like the most is card making. I don't do much of it right now because we don't have the space to do it because I like to spread out and not have to clean it up. :)

3. My newest obsession is quilt making. I am in the middle of making my first quilt. I went to a craft store here and saw the fabric and just fell in love with it. So we will see how it goes. Hopefully it will turn out great.

4. I want to go to Cosmetology School once Mike is done and we are out of Idaho. I never really thought about it but someone mentioned it to me and now that is what I am going to do. Hopefully I can get through it because I am not the best person when it comes to other people’s feet.

5. I got married to my brother’s best friend. I never liked him or had ever thought about dating him until they got back from their missions and we were hanging out all the time. Jamie actually set us up on our first date on Valentines Day. It is pretty crazy and now we have been married for almost 4 and a half years. Crazy!

6. I am going to kind of copy Ashley on this one. My favorite tv shows are Private Practice, Jon and Kate plus 8, Bringing home Baby (on TLC), and Baby Story (on TLC). I have just started being able to watch the whole show of Baby Store because they actually show the delivary and I am really really squeamish and I would have to change the channel but for some reason I can watch it now unless it is a c-section.

Snow Time

Saturday Morning we woke up to a lot of snow and it just keep coming. We decided to make a snow man b/c it was the perfect snow for that. While making it we decided to take it and put it in front of Megan and Ryan's door. So we started to roll up a ball and take it over there. We were trying to be sneaky but it was hard but they waited to open the door until we were ready.

I haven't done a update in a long time so I am guessing it is about time. Here is the fun and not so fun goings on of the summer. Where to start..... First of all Mike finished his third to last semester. YES!! He only has two left and will be done in April and we will be moving on to a new place and career. It is kinda scary to think that he is almost done, but we are ready and excited to see what is coming next. After being out of school for about a week he got a job working at The Best Western-Cotton Tree Inn as a handy man. He has really liked it a lot and it has been good for us because he has been learning a lot of stuff so when we have a house then I can have him fix it. Mike is going to be starting back to school on Wednesday and also working close to full time. That is about it for Mike. As for me about may I stopped working at the daycare and started working for a lady watching her kids at her house. It was a fun while it lasted but I am now looking for new work. I also had a wonderful opportunity to go down to Utah and spend a couple days in St. George with my grandparents and then travel with them to Texas to help out with my dad after his 3rd and hopefully final hip sugary. It was so fun to be able to just sit and hang out with my dad. I also had the opportunity to hang out with Jamie, Ashley, and Boston. I was able to babysit Boston two day and we had fun. I miss them so much and can't wait to hopefully be close to them. Since being back from Texas Mike and I had the change to go to his family's cabin in Jackson, WY. We went up a couple days before his family and then they came and we headed off to West Yellowstone to stay for a couple of day and go threw Yellowstone National Park. We had a lot of fun and saw quite a few animals then back to the cabin for a couple days. Then off to Bear Lake to meet up with Mikes Aunt and Uncles and Cousins. We had a fun time just hanging out going to the lake to go boating and of course played the wonderful candy game. It was a lot of fun to meet people in the family that I haven't meet yet and also get to know the family better. I also had a change to stop in at the Mecham runion and see some of them. Well this is long enough and that is pretty much all that has gone on for us this summer. We are ready for Mike to start school and be done and that will come sooner than we expect. Hope everything is going well with all of you guys.

Nothing Much

At Megan's request.... Well I haven't written because not much has happened, but Megan wanted an update so here we go. A couple of weeks ago I got to go down to Utah and spend some time with my family. I got to see my Dad and my brother and his family before they moved back to Texas. The big event of the week was that my sister-in-law graduated(Congrats Ash!!). It was a fun weekend. The sad thing was that Mike wasn't able to go because he had just started a new job. Well the job is the good part but not being able to be with the family is the sad part. Then, this week has been a really nice week. I am quitting my job at the daycare. I got offered a job from one of the parents to watch her 4 kids until we leave after Mike is done with school. It is what I have been hoping and waiting for. It will be so much fun and we are going to do a lot of fun stuff. I will probably be pretty tan by the end of the summer. We will be going to the slash part at least one a week. :) I am so excited! I feel that it is what I am supposed to do. I just now have to see if i can last two more weeks at the daycare. There has just been stuff going on that I need to get away from. So that is pretty much all that has been going on here in boring Rexburg. I can't wait to see the end and be done here. I am ready to move onto the next step of our lives. Last Couple Weeks

Things here are going alright. Mike is done with school and trying to find work for the summer. The best part of this last two week is that I got to go down to Provo for about 5 days and spend the time resting and relaxing with my little nephew(Boston). I got to babysit him and I know some people might say that isn't resting and relaxing b/c that is what I do every day but "Oh Man" being able to do what I want and go places during the day was a lot of fun. Also just being able to be with just one child and play and have fun was the best. The sad part is that they will be moving to Texas in about 3 weeks. :( I am not going to be able to just make a 4 hour drive to see them. Hopefully in a year we will be back in Texas and close to them so we can play more often. So I got back from Provo and went back to work but it has been kinda slow b/c the Public Schools here were out for Spring Break and then the College got out for a break in between Winter and Summer Semesters. So I haven't been working that many hours which is alright with me b/c it means that I am able to spend some time with Mike which hasn't been that much lately b/c he has been busy with projects since the semester was ending. Other than this nothing else exciting is going on. I am just missing my friend Megan for they have moved for the summer and so I am hoping that the summer will go fast so that they will be back. But it is sad b/c they will only be back for about 3-4 months then leave again b/c Ryan will be all done with school. So I will be happy but then sad again. So that is all that is going on around little lame Rexburg.

My First Post

Here goes my first post on my blog. Mike and I are still in Rexburg Idaho and we will be here for the summer and then two more semesters after that. So in a year Mike will be done with school. YES!!! Hopefully we will be getting out of Rexburg by then and be on our way to Texas. I am currently working at a daycare and I am the Assistant Director. It is fun but so tiring I am looking forward to my break this coming week. Mike is finishing up his third to last semester. He is tired of being in school but is hanging in there. In the fall he will be starting the BFA(Bachelors of Fine Arts) program. It will hopefully get him and his portfolio ready to get himself a job out of School. We are in our 4th apartment since living in Rexburg. It is a nice but small place. It will work until Mike graduates and we leave and hopefully be in another apartment for a couple month and then into our own house. Well that is about it going on here in nice old Rexburg. Hope everything is going well with everyone else.
